Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is our “home base” for all the vocal ministries of the Worship and Arts Ministry. The Adult Choir serves our church by leading in worship each and every week in both the 9:00 and 10:30am services, as well as in many specials events and worship times throughout the year. The choir is open to anyone college-age and up, and there is no audition to join the choir – just a requirement of a heart for God and a desire to lift Him up through singing that is joyful and authentic!
The Adult Choir rehearses each Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:00pm in the choir room (across the hallway directly behind the Worship Center stage) and we strive to make our time rehearsing together not simply about music, but about meeting with God in worship, learning from His Word, and seeking Him in prayer. The Adult Choir is truly a wonderful family of people and is always open to and excited to have visitors and new members. If you are interested, please come and join us on a Wednesday night for rehearsal and get to know what we are all about!
Praise Teams
Any member of the Adult Choir is welcomed and encouraged to be considered to serve on a praise team rotation which further serves to lead our church in worship on Sunday mornings and in our Sunday evening services. We hold open “auditions” (for lack of a better term) for these groups twice a year (generally in August and January), and the teams usually include 2 sopranos, 2 altos, and 2 tenors. These groups have a higher level of commitment first to the Lord, then to Adult Choir, and then to extra times of rehearsal and preparation for worship services.
Other Adult Choir Opportunities
Besides our weekly ministries, there are many other special ministries that are available to serve in through the home base of the Adult Choir. Some of these are:
- Solo or small group opportunities
- Leading worship for other settings – Nursing Home services, retreats, Sunday school class gatherings, etc.
- Social Events (we love to party!)
- A Mustang Merry Christmas – a massive all-church outreach event that happens each December and involves all ages and forms of the arts coming together to present the gospel and the true meaning of Christmas to our community!
